New Delhi, May 3: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today hit back at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference working president Omar Abdullah for his remarks blaming BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for Assam killings.
BJP national spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad, reacting to the charge of Omar Abdullah, told reporters that nobody takes the statements of Omar Abdullah seriously.
“No body takes him (Omar) seriously. Why should we”? he asked.
Mr Prasad said not even the people of Jammu and Kashmir were taking the statements of Omar Abdullah seriously.
He accused Centre and State Government of Assam, under Tarun Gogoi, for the killings.
“The BJP accuses the Tarun Gogoi Government and the Centre for inaction in Assam,” Prasad said.
“It is due to vote bank politics that the Tarun Gogoi Government is not doing enough to check violence in that region. Tarun Gogoi is Chief Minister for the last 14 years; what is he doing? PM is Rajya Sabha MP from Assam for the last 24 years; what is he doing,” the BJP leader asked. (Agencies)
