REASI, Aug 11: In a bizarre episode, a nomadic youth today captured three cubs of a leopard after giving dodge to their mother in forest areas of Arnas.
The youth, namely Ghulam Nabi, son of Noor Alam of Patli Morh, Kanthan, Arnas, took away the cubs to his house even as Police immediately swung into action and informed the Wildlife Department for necessary action.
Reports said that Ghulam Nabi was grazing cattle in forest area where he spotted three cubs near a bush. After realizing that the mother leopard was not nearby and had apparently gone for some prey, he took away the cubs to his house.
The news in this regard spread like wildfire following which Police swung into action and reached at the house of Ghulam Nabi besides immediately informing the Wildlife Department for necessary action.
On getting information, a team of Wildlife Department also left to Arnas from Ramban this evening via Mahore. However, because of bad weather, the team was forced to halt at Gool for night stay and till it could reach at Arnas, the Police and Ghulam Nabi are taking care of the cubs.
