Nomads facing shortage of food: Poonchi

POONCH, Sept 14: Gujjar leader Shamsher Hakla Poonchi has claimed that nomadic Gujjars and Bakarwals who have migrated to Dhoks in mountainous areas of Kashmir along with their cattle are facing shortage of food supplies and medical facilities because of present unrest in Kashmir.
Poonchi has appealed to the Governor Malik to instruct the authorities concerned so that food supplies and medical facilities become available to the Gujjars and Bakarwals in Kashmir.
He also said that Gujjars and Bakarwals living along the LoC are affected by the continuous firing by Pakistan army wherein many cattle have been killed. He demanded individual bunkers for each family of Gujjar-Bakarwal community living along the LoC.
