Non-basmati rice edges up on scattered demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 9:  In restricted activity, non-basmati prices rose by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on scattered demand from retailers.
However, other grains held steady in thin trade.
Traders said some demand from retailers led to the rise in non-basmati rice prices.
In the national capital, non-basmati rice permal raw, sela and IR-8 settled higher at Rs 1,875-1,925, Rs 2,300-2,400 and Rs 1,700-1,720 per quintal, respectively.
