Non-Camp DCC holds meet, highlights demands

JAMMU, May 1: Non-Camp Displaced Coordination Committee today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its chairman, DN Kissu, to take stock of the political and other developments in the State.
While addressing the gathering, Kissu said that PM’s rehabilitation package of 1500 crore has remain unimplemented and the ex-gratia paid to the displaced KPs for the burnt properties has been partially paid.
He urged the Government to immediately remove the draconian condition attached with PM’s special employment package for the displaced youth and pay the assessed amount for the gutted properties immediately.
The members of the Committee demanded that the displaced Kashmiri Pandits living in rented houses be allotted quarters at Jagti or the feasible rent be paid to them.
They also expressed concern that there is a large segment of displaced population which has become overage or are ineligible for PM’s employment package for one reason or the other, be given a one time grant of Rs 25 lakh for doing their own business.
