JAMMU, Nov 28: All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit Non-Camp Welfare Union, Jammu in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu urged the Government to take immediate steps in settling the long pending demands of the displaced Pandits from Valley.
The meeting demanded enhancement of cash relief, setting up of a township in Valley for rehabilitation of displaced Pandits, providing employment to educated youth of the community and one time compensation to over-aged youth, relaxation of cap on LPG supply, allotment of quarters at Jagti for all remaining migrants who still live in rented accommodations, free medical aid to chronic patients suffering from life consuming diseases, payment of pension to widows and old aged people, protection of left over properties in Valley, passage of shrines and temples bill, declaring distress sale a null and void and deferment of Income Tax to all State employees.
The meeting among others, was addressed by Prof G L Koul, C L Zuthsi, P N Raina, B N Bhat and Bal Ji Pandita.
