JAMMU, Nov 6: All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit Non Camp Welfare Union in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu expressed anguish over the casual approach of the State Government towards the plight of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
In a statement issued here today the meeting said even after the 23 years of displacement the community still faces the callous approach of the Government and it appears that Government has failed to fulfill its Constitutional obligations towards displaced Pandits.
The meeting said neither the Government has prepared any blue print on the return and rehabilitation of displaced Pandits nor it has taken the plight of the displaced people seriously.
The meeting said that the people feel jeopardized and discriminated as the state Government always passed the buck on the Central Government for financial help.
It demanded that no further time should be wasted and the concrete time frame plan should be discussed with the displaced people who are longing for honorable and dignified return. It said setting up the township, which can accommodate all the displaced KPs can be the viable return to the motherland.
Meeting also demanded enhancement of cash relief, release of ration quota for displaced APL card holders, one time package of 25 lakh for over aged youth and terming the distress sale as null and void.
