Non-compliance from school irks parents in Sopore

Srinagar, Mar 23: Parents accused the SRM Welkin Educational Trust Sopore of failing to make proper transport arrangements for the students of Chogal village in north Kashmir despite directions from the local administration.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Mohammad Ahsan Mir, had asked the school to make transport arrangements for the children boarding the vehicles from Chogul stop.
“School administration is under direction to review their decision and have a survey of the road along with the complainant and after satisfying themselves, have transport arrangements for the children boarding the vehicle from the Chogul,” an order stated. It asked the school to file the compliance report in two days so that bus can ply on road from Monday.
However, the parents alleged that their children continue to miss school because of non-compliance of ADC orders. “The bus did not arrive at the stop on Monday. Upon inquiring the school administration refused to provide transport facilities,” a parent said, adding they did inform us about the survey which is against the directions of the Deputy Commissioner.
The directions came after several parents of the area complained against the school for not dropping the students of Chogal village at the designated stop.
Earlier, The Chief Education Officer Baramulla, Balbir Singh, passed an order asking the school to conduct an inquiry into the matter. “You are advised to enquire the matter and redress the grievance within three days,” the order stated.
The parents said that they had repeatedly raised the issue with the school administration but to no avail, “despite multiple requests, they did not bother about it.”
