"Shockingly, the Chief Engineers and Executive Engineers responsible for these tubewells lack the necessary funds to repair the defunct infrastructure, bringing crucial Irrigation Departments to a complete standstill," he added. Expressing deep concern over the apathy shown towards the plight of paddy farmers, Tony emphasized the urgent need for strong measures to address the crisis. He highlighted the stark disparity in attention given to apple growers of Kashmir as compared to the rice-growing regions, where farmers face neglect and indifference in times of distress. He stressed that timely intervention from the authorities is imperative to prevent further escalation of the crisis and safeguard the livelihoods of farmers. As the custodian of the region's welfare, Tony implored LG Sinha to prioritize the concerns of paddy farmers and take swift and resolute measures to address the tubewell crisis.
