Non Gazetted Electrical Employees Asso discusses issues

JAMMU, Jan 13: A meeting of J&K Non Gazetted Electrical Employees Association (JKNGEEA) was held here today at Miran Sahib which was attended by the representatives of different wings of Power sector of Jammu region.
The meeting was presided over by Gurmeet Singh, State secretary JKNGEEA and general secretary JKCCTU.
The meeting was specially attended by Md Maqbool general secretary JKNGEEA and president JKCCTU who discussed the present alleged anti-employees policies and the challenges ahead.
Speakers in the meeting while discussing the present situation and the burning problems faced by the employees in general and the electricity employees in particular demanded to stop the privatization of power sector and to adopt a unified approach under public utility system.
They also demanded regularisation of all daily wagers and filling up of existing vacancies through DPC, ensuring democratic and trade union rights of employees and workers.
The speakers in the meeting decided to hold 3rd State Conference of JKNGEEA at Miran Sahib on January 30, 2024.
A handout stated that a 15 member reception committee was also appointed during the meeting with Bhupinder Singh as convener and Ajay Sharma as secretary. Ishwar Dayal, Saran Singh, Surjeet Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Amarjeet Singh, Kamlesh Kumari, Tirath Ram and others also attended the meeting.
It was decided to hold meetings with higher authorities on some immediate and burning issues of the employees and workers in coming days.
