JAMMU, Jan 5: Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum here today staged a protest demonstration and raised demands.
The protest was led by Ajit Singh, Chairman of the Forum and speaking on the occasion he demanded facilities like Ortho, ENT, medicines etc at Police Hospital.
Other demands raised on the occasion were adjustment of children of police personnel who die during service in Police Department and removal of pay anomaly.
Singh informed that when the Fifth Pay Commission was implemented in J&K the year 1996 only police department was left out.
He also said, right from that year there existed a pay anomaly in the salaries of cops to remove which three different committees were constituted but all these proved to be time killing exercises and the matter remains lingering on for over 20 years.
