LEH, (Ladakh), Oct 3: Non local gazetted employees’ today staged a protest demonstration at Polo Ground Leh against the delaying tactics adopted by the Government in transferring them from this far-flung and inhospitable area.
The peaceful demonstration was staged by the non local principals and 10+2 lecturers who expressed their strong resentment against indifferent attitude of the School Education Department towards them.
Saif-ud- Din, Lecturer English while addressing the protestors alleged that the Ladakh transfer policy is not being followed by the people at the helm of affairs at all. Under this policy an employee is supposed to serve in the region for a period of only two years with subsequent choice place of posting.
But in contrary to this and in gross violation of this transfer policy many principals and lecturers who were posted in the region have not been transferred even after completing the three and half years and two and half years service there. This shows that the Education Department was adopting delaying tactics in this regard, he added.
The employees warned to go on indefinite strike in case the transfer order is not issued within three days.
