JAMMU, Nov 26: Non-Secretariat Darbar Move employees today staged protest demonstration near Tawi bridge in support of their demands here today.
The employees were staging protest against Government  and  highlighting their plight. State president Non-Secretariat Darbar Move Employees Federation,  Ovais Wani strongly criticised State Government for step mother treatment meted out to them while allotting Government accommodation. They alleged that these Non-Secretariat Darbar Move employees are being neglected by the Government.
They pointed out that the State Govt has totally failed to provide residential accommodation to the Non-Secretariat Darbar Move employees at Jammu with the result they are facing hardships. The employees from Kashmir and Ladakh move to Jammu along with their families and invest at Jammu on this count but it is strange that they have been left on mercy of God for want of accommodation.
The Federation president Wani and the members decided to work on agenda ‘equal right to all’. They said every move employee from casual labour to Gazetted from their cadre be treated as Darbar Move employees. The Govt must treat Secretariat and Non Secretariat Move employee’s equally and residential accommodation as per rule, apply 60:40 quota: 40% Estate quarters shall be provided to non-secretariat move employees with the provision of special quota for female  and physically challenged move employees in Government accommodation.
They further demanded hotel accommodation for Darbar Move employees who have not provided yet, separate hotel rooms to all move employees in Srinagar for Jammu based employees, five days working mechanism in all Non-Secretariat Move offices including Direction offices.
