JAMMU, Dec 15: Bus Stand police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ launched by SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta arrested a non-state subject and recovered 18 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, during patrolling, a team from Bus Stand Police Station intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 18 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Durish Chand, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
A case under FIR Number 109/17 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
