JAMMU, Dec 21: Contin-uing the protest demonstration for 8th consecutive day in support of their long pending issues, the Jammu University non teaching employees took out a strong protest on the campus and warned to further intensify the struggle if their legitimate demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
Regarding the appeal made by the Registrar, JU, the agitating employees made it clear that sufficient time had been given to the authorities for considering their demands and hence the agitation would continue now till a logical conclusion.
During the demonstration, the employees under the banner of JU Non Teaching Employees Union, raised slogans in support of their demands. As scheduled, the Non Teaching employees took out a protest march on the campus and staged a demonstration in front of VC Secretariat.
Speakers on the occasion, highlighted the demands ands accused the University authorities of their callous approach towards the Non Teaching fraternity.
The president and vice president of the Non Gazetted Employees Union also shared the stage and extended full support to the ongoing agitation of the Non Teaching Employees Union.
Before concluding the 8th day demonstration, the agitating employees again appealed the Vice Chancellor to consider their demands as early as possible to avoid further extension of protest demonstration.
The demonstration was addressed by Pawan Singh, Vijay Kumar, Suraj Parkash, Ashwani Bakshi, Sham Sharma, Vikas Langer, Sanjeev Chadha, Abhinav Sharma.    Padam Shri Padamani, Niranjan Singh Charak, Joginder Singh Chib, Kewal Kumar, Sunita Amla, Jarnail Singh and Jasjeet Singh.
Reports said that similar protest demonstrations by the Non-Teaching staff were  also held in the offsite campuses of Jammu University.
