SRINAGAR, July 21: The Roads and Building Department today handed over the building of Noorbagh Hospital to the Health Department in presence of the Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul.
The building has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 11.54 crore.
The Speaker directed the Health Department to provide adequate staff both medical and para medical for Mother and Child Maternity Hospital, Noorbagh. He said that upgradation to the level of Mother and Child Care Hospital along with creation of additional 38 posts of various categories has been taken up with Planning and Development Department.
The Speaker said that to make the hospital functional Rs. 2 crore has been approved under NRHM for procurement of machinery and equipments.
Mr. Gul directed the Health Department to ensure cleanliness in and around the hospital. He also asked the concerned to develop the premises of the hospital on war-footing basis.
The Speaker directed the concerned executing agencies to macadamize the link road leading to the hospital.
Mr. Gul said that the project of Rs. 17 lakh for provision of adequate drinking water facilities for the hospital has been prepared and submitted to the concerned quarter for early sanction.
Referring to the overall development of the Eidgah constituency, the Speaker said that the construction work on Eidgah project is apace. He said Eidgah prayer ground is almost nearing completion and hoped that the Eid prayers would be offered there.
He announced that modern marriage hall would be constructed at Noorbagh. He said on completion of this project the people of Noorbagh and Bhagwanpora villages will be benefitted.
Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director Planning and other senior officers of Health, PHE, PDD, and Planning Development Department were present on the occasion.
