SRINAGAR, Oct 9: National Old Pension Restoration United Front (NOPRUF) under the leadership of its National president B P Singh Rawat commenced a “Nayay Yatra” (Procession for Justice) from Srinagar to Kanyakumari, today.
While talking to media persons on the occasion, B P Singh Rawat said that the purpose of the ‘Nayay Yatra’ is to demand the pension right for all those Government employees of the country who are still working under new National Pension System (NPS). He termed NPS flawed and not beneficial for retirees.
The other leaders of NOPRUF who accompanied the National president while starting the Yatra include Virender Dubey (National general secretary), Gulzabair Daing (JKUT president), Mansoor Ahmed Khan (JKUT vice president), Dr Vishnu Sharma (senior NOPRUF leader), Sampat Kumar Swamy (National advisor), Mymoonna Khan (JKUT president, Female Wing), Omkar Singh Parihar (chief organisor) Azad Hussain (JKUT social media/IT Incharge).
Rawat said that NOPRUF is a national level confederation of Government employees, which is running a nationwide campaign for last many years to raise voice in a peaceful way for restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS). He said as a result few states have revoked NPS and restored OPS but in J&K and various other states/UTs, OPS is yet to be restored.
“So NOPRUF has decided to run another big and peaceful campaign in the form of Nayay Yatra which after starting from Lal Chowk (Srinagar) will pass through many states and UTs to aware  the people and the authorities about the flaws and drawbacks of NPS. After travelling distance of the about 3570 Km, the Nayay Yatra will conclude in Kanyakumari. This is the best, peaceful and democratic way to demand the legitimate right of pension,” he added.
