Normal ‘Pooja’ begins at Mattan shrine

JAMMU, July 22: The normal pooja started in temple complex at holy shrine of Martand (Mattan) in Anantnag district today after the DC Anantnag Bashir Ahmed Khan, SSP Anantnag Mr Junaid along with MLC and former Chief Secretary, Vijay Bakaya visited the shrine and assured the office bearers of Prohit Sabha Martand and other Kashmiri Pandits that the Apex Court order will be implemented.
On this assurance the Prohit Sabha Martand decided to open the doors of temples in the shrine for the devotees and start the usual pooja and bhajan Kirtan.
The local Mirwiaz of Mattan also accompanied them and assured full support to authorities.
The President of the Trust, M K Yogi demanded that July 13 like situation should not take place again in the holy shrine and immediate steps be taken to mitigate the problems of Kashmiri Pandits. He demanded fool proof security be given to Martand shrine and other Hindu shrines in Valley. Meanwhile Suriya Mandir Jammu was also opened for regular pooja by the general secretary of the Trust Veer Ji Pandita.
