Northern Command Hospital wins Raksha Mantri Trophy

UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: Command Hospital Northern Command has won the coveted Raksha Mantri Trophy  for being adjudged as 2nd Best Hospital in an All India Competition held among all Command Hospitals including Air Force and Navy for the year 2013.
The award is given  for professional excellence, foresight and innovations in patients care.
The coveted trophy was awarded to Maj Gen Bipin Puri, Commandant Command Hospital, in a glittering ceremony held at South Block, MOD, New Delhi by the  Defence Minister in the presence of the Chiefs of Tri services, DGAFMS and other senior dignitaries of the MOD and the three services.
The Raksha Mantri Trophy was instituted in 1989 to identify and acknowledge excellence in patient care and hospital management among Command and equivalent hospitals of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
The selection committee visited the seven Command & equivalent hospitals and evaluated them on a number of parameters including workload, services provided, available infrastructure, documentation, hospital logistics and overall functioning based on the ground rules formed by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) modified to assess service hospitals.
Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra,  GOC-in-C,  Northern Command congratulated Maj Gen Bipin Puri  and his team of Doctors, Nursing officers and staff for this achievement.
He mentioned that it was a proud movement for all ranks of Northern Command.
Command Hospital Udhampur has the unique distinction of being the only tertiary care hospital of the Armed Forces Medical Services to be deployed in CI Operation.
