OSLO, Nov 29: The Norwegian Government said it had approved an increase in financial assistance to Ukraine in 2025 to at least $3.2 billion, and also decided to extend the Nansen Support Program for Ukraine until 2030, increasing the total amount of support to $14 billion.
Earlier, the NRK broadcaster reported that Norway plans to extend the Nansen aid program for Ukraine until 2030 and increase the total amount of support from $7.1 billion to $12.8 billion. The Nansen program is designed for the period from 2023 to 2027 and is intended to transfer military and civilian aid to Ukraine; initially its total amount was 75 billion kroner ($6.8 billion).
In November, NRK reported that the Norwegian Government was considering increasing the amount of financial aid to Ukraine to about $2.7 billion in 2025.
“In 2025, the allocation to the support programme is to be at least NOK 35 billion (EUR 3.0 billion) [$3.2 billion]… The support programme will be extended by three years, to run through 2030. The overall funding framework will be increased to a minimum of NOK 154.5 billion [$14 billion] for the programme period,” the Norwegian Government said in a statement. (UNI)
