Not only to entertain, theatre carries bigger responsibility: Bhawani at Natrang Show

JAMMU, Oct 5: Eminent playwright, theatre/film actor and director, Bhawani Bashir Yasir featured today at Natrang’s International Theatre Talk Show, live at Natrang’s Facebook Page where he shared his significant vision of theatre with the global audience.
Director Natrang, Padmashri Balwant Thakur expressed his gratitude towards the eminent theatre personalities of India and abroad who have made this talk show remarkable with their presence and termed it as a highly enriching experience for the theatre enthusiasts.
Introducing Bhawani Bashir Yasir, Natrang’s actor Gopi Sharma informed that, Bashir is a senior NSD Graduate with specialisation in Design and Direction for which he bagged distinction award in Stage-Craft from National School of Drama (NSD) and further received Fellowship in Direction from NSD, New Delhi.
Bhawani is having 35 years of professional experience in theatre designing that includes theatre architecture as well with an international study of South Asian and European performing arts centres – viz theatre auditoriums, opera houses, dance centres and conference halls. A recipient of Senior Fellowship from Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Bhawani has done numerous plays which includes Amaneth, Fundbaaz, Lal Bo Drayes Loleray, Takhleeq, Motocar, King Oedipus, Aka-Nandun, Trunouve, Dak Ghar, Dumb Waiter etc.
He has participated in many major national and international theatre festivals.
He has also the credit of performing in many Bollywood films like Haider, Kesari, Saat Khoon Maaf, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, The Bioscopewala, Jihaad etc. Presently he is working as a Chairman and Director (School of Drama and Repertory) Ensemble Kashmir Theatre Akademi (EKTA) Srinagar.
