Notorious bovine smuggler booked under PSA

JAMMU, Nov 17: Police in Akhnoor area claimed here today that they have booked a notorious drug peddler under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
A police spokesperson said that information was received at Police Station Akhnoor regarding one notorious bovine smuggler, Talib Hussain of Dhanwal, Tehsil Khour, District Jammu, who was evading his arrests in multiple cases.
On this, he said, special teams of Police Station Akhnoor led by SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan Lal Sharma, assisted by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, raided the suspected place and arrested the notorious criminal.
According to the police spokesperson, a warrant of arrest against the accused under PSA was issued by the District Magistrate Jammu after receiving a dossier from the District Police.
He said the accused was habitual of indulging in criminal activities and was wanted in several cases registered at Police Stations Thannamandi, Akhnoor, and Pouni.
Today, the arrest warrant was executed with the arrest of the accused, who has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, he said.
