Notorious bovine smuggler booked under PSA

KATHUA, Oct 26: In a decisive operation, Kathua Police successfully apprehended a notorious bovine smuggler and habitual offender, Saddam Hussain, alias Sai, under a detention warrant issued by the District Magistrate of Kathua.
The arrest was made by a team led by Inspector Rajeshwar Slathia, Station House Officer of Police Station Rajbagh, under the supervision of SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saksena, and guided by SDPO Border, Dheeraj Singh Katoch.
Saddam Hussain, a resident of Haria Chak in the Marheen Tehsil, has been linked to multiple criminal cases across several police stations in Kathua. His continued engagement in organized crime, including bovine smuggling, has caused public fear, prompting authorities to take strict action against him. Despite previous arrests, Hussain has persisted in criminal activities, which led the police to seek stricter preventive measures.
To curb his activities, Kathua Police prepared a detailed dossier on Hussain’s criminal record, which was submitted to the District Magistrate for his detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA). The warrant was executed, and Hussain has been lodged in District Jail Kathua, marking a key step in efforts to ensure public safety and restore peace in the area.
