JAMMU, Dec 19: Bishnah police arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered stolen property worth around Rs 1 lakh.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Surinder Kumar, son of Gurdass Kundal of Ward Number 4 with Police Station Bishnah stating that on December 10 this year some unknown person(s) entered into his shop by breaking the wall from back side and decamped with smart phones and accessories valuing around Rs 1 lakh.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 211/18 under section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Bishnah Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Bishnah Police Station rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the notorious thief, who also admitted his involvement in the aforesaid theft case.
The accused has been identified as Suraj Kumar, son of Thakar Dass, a resident of Lalyana, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu.
On his disclosure, police recovered the stolen gadgets including 10 smart phones, 9 adopters (charger), 6 data cables and 8 headphones wroth around Rs 1 lakh.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Rajesh Sharma and assisted by SI Ankuj Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Sourav Prashar, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and DIG JSK Range/SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
