KISHTWAR, Oct 4: Additional District Magistrate (ADM) today booked a notorious cheat for duping the innocent people of their hard earned money.
An official spokesman said that cheat namely Sajad Ahmed Najar, son of Abdul Gaffer Najar of Jamai Masjid Mohallah, Kishtwar, had allured one Ashiq Hussain, son of Abdul Qayoom of Gundoh, at present Kishtwar to provide him Government job as Sub Inspector in Police Department and took away Rs 11 lakh. The person took the loan from the bank and private persons to arrange Rs 11 lakh.
After knowing that the persons have been cheated, they approached ADM Kishtwar, who initiated immediate action and directed police to arrest the cheat and produce him before the Magistrate.
ADM after hearing witness and taking evidence, booked the cheat as habitual offender of cheating under Sections 110, 112 and 112 CrPc and put him behind the bars, he said, adding, efforts for recovery of money have also been initiated.
Spokesman said that, during the enquiry it came to fore that the cheat is a notorious offender and has already cheated various persons by posing as DySP, Sub Inspector and even MLA Kishtwar.
In one case he exhorted Rs 2.5 lakh from CAPD employee posing as Inspector of CID, and an FIR number 115/11 was registered, but later he was bailed out, he said, adding, that the name of three persons including one SPO has also surfaced in the case.
