JAMMU, Sept 16: Gandhi Nagar police arrested a notorious criminal from Srinagar along with his four associates and recovered country made pistol and two live rounds.
As per police sources, a team from Police Post Digiana was deputed to Srinagar for taking custody of Paramjit Singh alias Sunny, son of Labh Singh of Ward Number 4 Simbal Camp, Manjeet Singh, son of Jaspal Singh of Ward Number 2 Simbal Camp, Pawandeep Singh alias Pawan, son of Suram Singh of Ward Number 2 Simbal Camp, Manmeet Singh alias Ricky, son of Charanjit Singh of Ward Number 5 Simbal Camp and Paramjit Singh alias Vicky, son of Inder Singh of Ward Number 2 Simbal Camp in case FIR Number 85/17 under Section 379 RPC with Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
During sustained questioning of accused namely Paramjit Singh alias Sunny, one country made katta and two live rounds were recovered by the Gandhi Nagar Police on his disclosure.
A fresh case under FIR Number 158/17 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
The accused Paramjit Singh alias Sunny was also wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 125/16 under Section 307/34 RPC and 4/25 and 3/25 Arms Act with Police Station Miran Sahib. He was also involved in a number of criminal cases of heinous nature and Public Safety Act (PSA) was also slapped on him. He came out of the jail around one year back.
Police team led by Incharge Digiana Police Post SI Pawan Dogra and SHO Gandhi Nagar DySP (P) Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
