Notorious criminal arrested with country made pistol, live cartridge

JAMMU, May 9: Keeping hawks eye over immoral activities by anti-social elements, Gandhi Nagar police foiled murder bid with the arrest of a notorious criminal along with country made pistol and live cartridge.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid a naka near Cremation Ground Shastri Nagar and asked a pedestrian to stop, as he was moving under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing police cops, the pedestrian escaped from the spot into a nearby lane. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased the pedestrian and intercepted him.
During checking, police recovered country made pistol and a live round from the possession of the accused and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Tajinder Singh alias Happy, son of Mohinder Singh, a resident of Ward Number 4, Simbal Camp Jammu.
The accused was on its way to murder his rival, but timely action by the cops, foiled his bid.
A case under FIR Number 110/18 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by ASI Mohammad Hanief foiled the murder plot and arrested the accused under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
