Notorious criminal arrested with loaded pistol

JAMMU, May 18: Gandhi Nagar police foiled murder plot with the arrest of a notorious criminal and recovery of loaded country made pistol.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid a naka at cremation ground, Shastri Nagar and signaled a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02BL-3418 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the rider accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops intercepted the rider after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered country made pistol and two live cartridges from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Tajinder Singh alias Jinda, son of Darshan Singh, a resident of Ward Number 2, Simble Camp Jammu. With his arrest, police thwarted the attempt of the accused to eliminate his rivals.
A case under FIR Number 116/18 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
It may be mentioned here that the arrested accused is a notorious criminal who was recently bailed out from PSA and a number of cases of attempt to murder, stabbing and keeping/possession of illegal arms stands registered against him in different police stations of District Jammu.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by SI Kali Charan foiled the murder plot under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
