JAMMU, July 28: Jammu and Kashmir Police here at Miran Sahib Area booked a notorious criminal under the PIT NDPS Act.
A police spokesperson said that acting on reliable information regarding the criminal Navjot Singh alias Bablu of Indira Nagar, a team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, assisted by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Bopinder Singh carried out a raid at the suspected location and successfully arrested the drug peddler.
The accused had a reputation as a hardcore criminal and was involved in multiple cases of drug peddling and narcotics trade, he said.
A warrant of arrest against the accused had been issued by the District Magistrate Jammu. In compliance with the order, the police executed the detention warrant under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1988 (PIT NDPS Act) and arrested the accused, he added.
