Notorious criminal booked under PSA

JAMMU, Oct 21: A notorious criminal was today arrested and booked under Section 8(1)(A) of J&K Public Safety Act (PSA) by Police Station Bishnah.
“Identified as Mohammad Yaqoob alias Yuka and Lambu son of Bashir Ahmed and resident of Sarore Adda (at present living in Chak Waziroo area of tehsil Bishnah), the notorious criminal was evading his arrest in multiple cases including attempt to murder but was finally arrested today by Bishnah Police following a raid at its hideout,” a Police spokesman said.
He said that a warrant of arrest under PSA was already issued against the accused by the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and finally, the warrant was executed today and the accused was shifted to Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal (Jammu).
The arrest was made by a team of Police Station Bishnah headed by Inspector Vikram Sharma (SHO Police Station Bishnah) under the close supervision of Nikhil Gogna, (SDPO RS Pura), Ramnish Gupta (SP Headquarters Jammu) and overall supervision of Chandan Kohli (SSP Jammu).
It is pertinent to mention that the accused person was a notorious criminal and history-sheeter and was involved in various acts of violence such as attempt to murder, assault, stabbing, snatching and had spread a reign of terror among the peace loving people of the area. He was wanted in more than one dozen cases registered against him in various police stations.
