JAMMU, Apr 9: A notorious criminal was booked under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) by police in RS Pura area here today.
A police spokesperson said that Yudhvir Singh alias Bablu of Old Agra Chak, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu, was booked under PSA after obtaining formal detention orders from the District Magistrate Jammu.
“Post detention, he has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal,” said the police spokesperson.
According to the police spokesperson, number of cases were registered against Yudhvir Singh, including of murder, attempt to murder etc.
“He was constantly promoting his criminal activities in the area by using illegal arms despite his involvement in several FIRs,” said the police spokesperson.
He said the criminal would always succeed in securing bail from the court to avoid the police action but in the recent case, a dossier under the PSA was recommended against him, which was considered by the DM Jammu, who had issued a PSA warrant against him.
The arrest warrant was executed today by a team of Police Station RS Pura led by SHO concerned assisted by Incharge Border Police Post (BPP) Agra Chak under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, SP Headquarters Jammu, and SSP Jammu, by arresting the accused and subsequently lodging him in the Central Jail Kot Bhalwal.
