REASI, Apr 7: District Police Reasi booked a notorious criminal under Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged him in District Jail Udhampur.
According to Police, the alleged criminal namely Jaswinder Singh alias Sundri, son of Ganga Singh, resident of Sarna, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, was involved in a number of cases, vide FIR No. 121/2011 U/S’s 341/323/32 4 RPC Act, FIR No. 232/2012 U/S 341/323 RPC, FIR No.248/2012 U/S’s 307/323/34 RPC Act, FIR No. 185/2013 451/323/382 RPC, 4/27 Arms Act, FIR No. 252/2022 451/427/323/34 IPC, FIR No. 252/2022 451/427/323/34 IPC, FIR No. 368/2023 307/34 IPC, registered against him at Police Station Katra.
On the directions of SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma, his dossiers for Public Safety Act was framed and sent for necessary detention order to District Magistrate Reasi who formally issued the order No.01-PSA of 2024 of his detention under PSA. Thereafter, on the orders of Vishesh Paul Mahajan District Magistrate, Reasi, Jaswinder Singh was arrested and lodged in District Jail Udhampur under Public Safety Act.
Meanwhile, Police team of Police Station Reasi apprehended a drug peddler during surprise naka at Sulla area. The accused, namely Pardeep Singh, son of Dharam Singh, resident of near New Bus Stand Katra, was carrying three grams of heroin like substance and small electronic weighing machine in dashboard of the vehicle, he was driving.
A case FIR No.65/2024 US 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Reasi and investigation is going on to unearth backward and forward linkage. The operation was led by SHO Reasi Chaman Gorka under the supervision of Dy SP HQ Reasi Neeraj Padyar.
