SAMBA, Apr 24: Police in Samba District claimed today they have arrested a notorious criminal under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA).
Shiv Dayal alias Sunny was wanted for his involvement in various criminal cases registered in Jammu and Samba Districts, a police spokesperson said.
His criminal activities were continuously posing threat to the public peace and tranquillity, he said.
He further said that a detention order against the criminal was issued by the District Magistrate Samba on the basis of a dossier prepared by the SSP Samba.
After his detention, the criminal has been lodged in District Jail in Kathua District.
The PSA warrant was executed by a police party headed by SHO Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma.
