JAMMU, Mar 23: Police claimed today that they have arrested a notorious criminal and detained him under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) here.
A police spokesperson said that Ranjeet Singh alias Tinku of Marjali, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu, was a history-sheeter and was wanted in several cases including in attempt to murder, stabbing, snatching etc registered under cases FIR number 144/2017 under sections 341/323/34 of the RPC at Police Station Kahnachak, FIR number 44/2019 under sections 307/341/323/34 of RPC at Police Station Kahnachak, FIR number 118/2022 under sections 341/323/147 of the IPC at Police Station Gharota, FIR number 122/2022 under section 364/341/242/323/201/34 of the IPC at Police Station Nowabad, and FIR number 30/2023 under sections 307/34 of IPC and 4/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Akhnoor.
“The arrest warrant of the accused criminal was issued and got executed today by SHO Gharota, Inspector Joginder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor, Mohan Sharma and the former was lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu,” added the spokesperson.
