UDHAMPUR, Jan 3: District Police Udhampur has booked and detained a notorious criminal under the J&K Public Safety Act (PSA).
The accused, namely Ashraf Ali alias Shifu, son of Jaleel Ahmed of Mani, Tehsil Ramnagar, was involved in a number of criminal cases registered against him in the Police Station Ramnagar and Police Station Udhampur.
The accused was notorious criminal and continuously involved in a number of criminal act of bovine smuggling, theft and bottlegging. He had become a threat to the peaceful atmosphere and also posing great threat to the public peace and tranquility thereby forcing authorities to detain him under J&K Public Safety Act, 1978.
On the directions of SSP Udhampur Joginder Singh, his dossier for PSA was framed and sent for necessary detention orders by the District Magistrate.
After getting necessary detention orders, Ashraf Ali was arrested by the team of Police Station Ramnagar, led by SHO Sohan Singh and SDPO Ramnagar Vishal Manhas under supervision of Addl SP Udhampur Anwaar Ul Haq.
