JAMMU, Mar 25: Police arrested a notorious criminal, who was at large since long along with heroin and sharp-edged weapon from Simbal Camp area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Miran Sahib police station conducted raid in Simbal Camp area and arrested a notorious criminal, who was evading his arrest since long.
The accused has been identified as Tajinder Singh alias Jinda, son of Darshan Singh of Ward Number 2. Simbal.
Police recovered 2 grams heroin worth several thousands and a sharp-edged weapon (Gorkha Khokri) from his possession.
A case under FIR Number 58/16 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused at Miran Sahib police station and investigation started.
The accused was wanted in FIR Number 73/15 under Section 307, 341, 323 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act, FIR Number 80/15 under Section 307, 341 and 147 RPC and 3/25 and 4/25 Arms Act, FIR Number 188/15 under Section 452, 323, 34 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act and 28/16 under Section 458, 449, 170, 504, 506 and 34 RPC and 3/25 and 4/25 Arms Act. All these cases against the accused stands registered with police station Miran Sahib.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh and SP Headquarters RC Kotwal.
