POONCH, Sep 30: To maintain law and order as well as save the young generation from drug menace, a notorious criminal was today slapped with Public Safety Act (PSA).
The accused identified as Mukhtar Ahmed alias Mukhi son of late Mohd Rafiq, resident of village Qazi Morha (Ward number 1, tehsil Haveli, district Poonch) was detained by the police under Public Safety Act (PSA).
The accused is a habitual offender and is involved in number of theft/narcotics and other criminal activities. Besides, he is a notorious character who was indulged in deviating youth from righteous path and his criminal activities were posing a great threat to the life and liberty of the people.
As such keeping in view preventing him from committing any further criminal acts which can prove fatal, he was slapped with Public Safety Act.
