Notorious drug peddler among 3 arrested by Samba police

SAMBA, Apr 18 : Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, police have arrested one notorious drug peddler with ‘Ganja’ and two bootleggers with illegally possessed liquor .
The notorious drug peddler identified as Mohd Sadiq, son of Bashir Ahmed of Teli Basti Bari-Brahmana, Samba has been involved in drugs peddling for years together in Bari Brahmana area of Samba district and used to purchase drugs from Kashmir. FIR under relevant sections of NDPS ACT has been registered at Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
Drug peddler has been arrested by a police team comprising of SHO P S Bari Brahmana, Sunil Sharma, PSI Rakesh Singh, HC Om Parkash and SgCT Ashok Kumar , whereas two bootleggers arrested with illegally possessed liquor have been identified as Ramesh Chander son of Munshi Ram of Jasath Ghagwal, Samba and Bal Krishan son of Bhagat Ram of Majua, tehsil Bishnah, district Jammu.
Two separate FIRs under relevant sections of Excise Act have been registered at police station Ghagwal and Police Station Ramgarh and further investigation is underway. The bootleggers have been arrested by Police team of PS Ghagwal comprising of SHO PS Ghagwal, Bharat Bhushan, PSI Maneesh Sharma and PSI Nirmal Singh and police team comprising of SHO PS Ramgarh, Sudesh Kumar and SI Sham Lal under the supervision of DySP, Garu Ram and overall supervision of Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that Police is striving mightily to eradicate drug menace in Samba district and drug suppliers/ peddlers are being nabbed by police one after the other .
