Notorious drug-peddler among four arrested with contraband

JAMMU, July 12: Four persons including a notorious drug peddler were arrested with contraband.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Bahu Fort led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by Incharge Police Post Bathindi SI Shabir Hussain intercepted auto bearing registration number JK02BD-9836.
During checking, police team recovered 162 grams cannabis and arrested one person, who was identified as Jahangir Khalid, son of Shames Din of Sarh Bagga District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 252/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation initiated.
Meanwhile, during patrolling a team from Police Station Bus Stand intercepted a person, who was moving suspiciously.
During checking, police team recovered around 50 grams of heroin from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Mohammad Shafeeq Dar, son of Abdul Khaliq, a resident of Ustaad Mohallah District Jammu.
The accused person was a hardcore drug smuggler and tried to get the local youth involved in drugs and was also supplying drugs among the youth. With his arrest, police saved the youth from becoming drugs addict.
A case under FIR Number 47/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
A team from Police Station Bus Stand led by PSI Bhawani Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bus Stand Inspector Deepankar Singh, SDPO City North Sharad Kalu and SP City Mohita Sharma.
In another similar case, a team from Police Station Kanachack led by ASI Sham Lal under the supervision of SHO Kanachack Inspector Vishav Partap Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a Mahindra Bolero bearing registration number JK02AR-4628 which was coming from Mishriwala towards Rajpura.
During frisking, police team recovered 2.80 kilograms of bhukki was recovered from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Krishan Lal, son of Kanshi Ram of Kot Garhi Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 103/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation of the case is going on.
However, a team from Police Station Dharamkund laid a naka and intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK18-2569.
During checking, police team recovered 29 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of a passenger and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Subash Singh, son of Partap Singh, a resident of Sawalakote, Tehsil Arnas District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 31/2021 under Section 48 (A) (F) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Dharamkund and investigation started.
The arrest and recovery was made by SHO Dharamkund Inspector Firdoos Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Gool Pardeep Kumar.
