POONCH, Feb 9: Continuing its war against drug menace, District Police Poonch apprehended a drug-peddler from Poonch City.
An official spokesman said that a police party from Police Station Poonch led by SI Ishtiaq Ahmed during routine patrolling last evening noticed some unusual movement of a person at Qazi Morha. He ran away but was chased by the Police party and caught near B Ed College. During his search, a bag containing 612 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession, He was identified as Ikhlaq Ahmed, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Ward No. 01, Poonch. In this connection a case has been registered at P/S Poonch under section8/20 NDPS ACT.
The arrest and recovery was made by Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao, SHO Poonch assisted by PSI Arun Singh.
