UDHAMPUR, Aug 26: Hectic efforts of the Udhampur Police have ultimately led to the arrest of notorious drug peddler Nikka Billa, who was absconding for the last three days since the death of a youth because of drugs overdose.
According to Police, Kewal Krishan alias Nikka Billa, son of Puran Chand of Housing Colony, Udhampur was arrested during a naka at Sattani, Dhar Road Udhampur and three grams of contraband substance ‘Chitta’ has been seized from his possession. In this connection, a case FIR number 432/2018, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is taken up.
It may be recalled on August 23, one Mudassar (28), son of Gulam Qadir of Shiv Nagar Udhampur had died because of drugs overdose. He was brought to Udhampur District Hospital in an unconscious condition and had died after some time.
During preliminary investigation, it came to light deceased Mudassar was brought to the hospital by Nikka Billa. Motorcycle of the deceased was also found parked near the house of Nikka Billa and Police had been looking for him since that day.
Today, acting on reliable information, a police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspr Vijay Choudhary and assisted by SI Jaswinder Singh, IC PP Roundomail, under the supervision of Kulbir Handa, DySP Hqrs. laid a naka at Sattani, Dhar Road, Udhampur and arrested the accused.
