Notorious drug peddler arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Apr 1: Pacca Danga police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered 20 grams of heroin worth Rs 2 lakh from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Pacca Danga Police Station laid a naka at Manda and intercepted a vehicle, which was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar.
During checking, police recovered 20 grams of heroin valuing Rs 2 lakh from the possession of a person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Aquib Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad of Dooru, District Anantnag.
The accused was a notorious drug peddler and with his arrest, police achieved a major success to save the youth from becoming drug addicts.
A case under FIR number 49/18 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, Incharge SP City Vinay Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
