Notorious drug peddler booked

RAJOURI, Dec 22: The police in Rajouri has booked a notorious drug- peddler under relevant sections of law.
Official sources said that police said to have detained a notorious drug peddler/ supplier identified as Rohit Dutta, son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Siot in district Rajouri.
The accused has been detained under the ” Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act” and lodged in District Jail Dhangri, in Rajouri under the orders of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu who is competent authority to issue such orders.
The individual is involved in multiple drug cases registered at different Police Stations over the past couple of years and used to manage bail from the Court of law.
He was repeatedly found engaged in anti-social activities and is a habitual drug smuggler, supplier which is prejudicial to the maintenance of public order and posed serious threat to safety, security of lives and property of citizens particularly young generation from menace of drugs in Sunderbani-Nowshera axis and other parts of the district.
The accused is a notorious fellow and a chronic offender and always used illegal ways in past to meet out his bad habits. The warrant of detention was executed by SHO PS Dharamsal and concerned beat officials.
