Notorious drug peddler booked under PIT NDPS Act

JAMMU, Dec 27: A notorious drug peddler of Miran Sahib was booked under the PIT-NDPS Act today and accordingly lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
Mohammad Mushtaq alias Channi of Kothey Sheikh, Miran Sahib, District Jammu, was booked under the PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, a police official said.
According to him, multiple FIRs under the NDPS Act were registered against the peddler for his involvement in promoting drug trade by supplying drugs to the local youth of the area (Miran Sahib).
Despite his arrest in NDPS cases, the police official said, the drug peddler didn’t mend his activities and was again found involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to the local youth in order to gain monetary gains.
He further said that the accused remained successful every time in securing the bails from the courts and in order to refrain him from indulging in further criminal activities, a dossier under stringent PIT NDPS Act was recommended against him.
After getting satisfied with the dossier, he said, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu issued a PIT NDPS warrant against the peddler.
The arrest warrant was executed today with the arrest of the accused by a team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO concerned under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna, SP headquarters Jammu IH Rather and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, he added.
