JAMMU, Dec 29: A notorious drug peddler was booked under the PIT NDPS Act by police in Akhnoor area here today.
A police spokesperson said that Abhinash Kumar alias Kanha of Ward number 4, Jia Potta, Akhnoor, District Jammu, was wanted in several cases registered against him at Police Station Akhnoor.
On specific information about the presence of the wanted drug peddler, he said, a team of Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma, raided the suspected place and arrested the notorious drug peddler today.
A warrant under PIT NDPS against the accused was issued by Divisional Commissioner Jammu after receiving a dossier from the District Police, he said, adding that the warrant got executed today with the arrest of the criminal and shifting him to the District Jail Kathua.
