JAMMU, Apr 5: A notorious drug peddler was booked under the PIT NDPS Act by Police in RS Pura area here today.
Narinder Pal alias Bulla of Puro Bhana, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu, was involved in promoting drug abuse and trade by supplying drugs to the local youth of the area, a police official said.
“Despite his involvement in multiple FIRs, he didn’t mend his activities and continued his involvement in promoting drug abuse and drug trade by supplying drugs to the local youth by securing bails all the time,” he said.
The police official said that in order to stop the criminal from further indulging in criminal activities, a dossier under PIT NDPS Act was recommended against him.
“Followed by this dossier, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu issued formal detention orders against the accused, which were executed by the Police with the arrest and subsequent lodging of the criminal in District Jail at Kathua,” he said.
The arrest was made by a team of Police Station RS Pura under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu.
