Notorious drug-peddler detained under PSA

RAJOURI, May 10: The  police today detained a notorious thief and drug peddler under Public Safety Act and lodged him in District Central Jail Dhangri as he was time and again becoming a threat for peace and order in the area.
A police spokesman said that the said accused person already stands booked in different cases including FIR No. 118/2014 U/S 457/380/RPC of  PS Rajouri, FIR No. 602/2014 U/S 379/RPC of PS Rajouri and  FIR No. 526/2016 US 8/21/22/NDPS Act of Police Station, Rajouri.
The official further said that the said person remained involved in other anti-social activities also which are highly prejudicial to the maintenance of  public order and his involvement in burglary as well as drug related activities are harmful for younger generation, particularly college and school students.
The case  FIR No. 526/2016 U/S 8/21/22/NDPS Act of PS Rajouri was registered on 11/08/2016 against him when a police party from  Police Station, Rajouri headed by Head Constable Ghulam Ahmed was deputed for routine naka at Kheora near Darhali Bridge in Rajouri town  and made recovery of narcotic substance besides 5 syringes used for intoxication.
He has been identified as Irfan Ahmed alias TT, son of  Zakir Hussain, resident of  village Narian, tehsil Nowshera, district Rajouri and presently residing at Ward No. 1, Panja Chowk, Rajouri town.
After order of his detention under PSA was issued by District Magistrate, Rajouri Dr Shahid Iqbal, the  Police under the supervision of SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas implemented the order.
Rajouri police reiterated its commitment of strong action against all the people who are time and again becoming threat for public peace and order. The local public lauded the police action.
