Notorious drug peddler detained under PIT NDPS

JAMMU, Nov 13: A notorious drug peddler was detained by Chatha Police under PIT NDPS Act.
“Acting on a tip off regarding whereabouts of the notorious drug peddler namely Bikramjeet Singh alias Vicky son of Ujjagar Singh resident of Bhour Camp (Satwari), a team of Police Post Chatha led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma, and assisted by SHO Satwari Inspector Sumeet Sharma and Incharge Police Post Chatha PSI Harjinder Paul Singh, raided the suspected place and detained the drug peddler,” a Police spokesman said.
He said the accused person was a notorious criminal and was involved in many cases of drug peddling and dealing in narcotics. “Also, a warrant of arrest vide Order Number PIT NDPS 57 of 2023 dated 10-11-2023 was issued against the accused by Divisional Commissioner Jammu,” he added.
“Finally, today in compliance to the directions of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, under Prevention of Illicit Traffic (PIT) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1988, the accused person was detained and shifted to District Jail Kathua,” stated the spokesman.
