SRINAGAR, Oct 6: Police in Kulgam today said to have arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Acting on specific information regarding the presence of the contraband substance in the residential houses of Mohammad Yousuf Rather Son of Mohammad Maqbool Rather and Mohammad Amin Bhat Son of Abdul Khaliq Bhat, residents of Damidullah, Yaripora, a police team headed by SHO PS Yaripora along with Executive Magistrate Yaripora raided the spots.
“During the search, the team was able to recover 08 Kgs of Cannabis powder from both the residential houses. Both the accused persons were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 68/2021 under the relevant section of law stands registered at Police Station Yaripora and an investigation has been taken up.
