Notorious thief arrested with stolen items worth Rs 13,000

JAMMU, Feb 4: Domana Police arrested a notorious thief and recovered stolen items worth Rs 13,000 from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Domana about theft of items from a shop at Tiko Chak area.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 39/2022 under Section 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
To work out the case, a team from Police Station Domana led by SHO Inspector Mahesh Sharma and assisted by ASI Javed Ahmed was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Sunil Singh.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area finally nabbed the thief, who was identified as Pritam singh alias Phaloo, son of late Uttam Singh of Bellan Purkhoo District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen items worth Rs 13000 were recovered.
It is pertinent to mention here that the arrested accused is a habitual offender and was previously involved in theft cases registered with Police Station Domana.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
